Survival can be ugly, gritty, and painfully revealing of our true nature. The every-day office employee can be turned into society’s next serial killer, when his life has been pushed up against a wall, and ultimate survival is the only way out.
Pain in the face of struggle. That is what has forged the music, message and views of this four piece-metal manifesto. Their personal experiences in their homelands and from life abroad have given them the understanding that humans, all over, go through similar situations and struggles.
No one is immune.
Urban violence, war, corruption, poverty, racism, inequality, addiction, depression and other psychological battles affect all of us and our way of life, directly or indirectly. Their music and words are, in one sense, inspired by these struggles, yet also highlight the incredible human capacity to fight, to learn, to grow, and to overcome.
The current incarnation of SEITA is: founder member Michel Gambini (V/G), Pablo Minoli (G), Diego Gomez (B) and Damian Lopez (D).
Over the years, the band has developed and crafted a brand of "in your face" thrash/death metal inspired by the formative years of bands in these genres. Their main focus back then was to write good songs that were indicative of their time, but still relevant today. Seita has continued in this tradition. No shallow displays of technical prowess or vapid trend revivals for these guys. They carry with them, a collection of sonic "baggage", born from years of dedication and experience on the live music scene, ranging from metal to blues, jazz, rock and Latin grooves.
SEITA remains true to their metal roots despite its eclectic musical heritage, and has no intention whatsoever of compromising their sound by introducing new elements only for the sake of differentiating themselves from the pack. Instead, they maintain a profound and sincere connection to these musical influences and flavours: the result of which can be heard on their yet to be released second full-length album, MALEDICTUS MUNDI. Formed from within the cultural melting pot that is the Dutch city of Amsterdam in 2007, SEITA has since released one EP (Imprint Forever 2008/self-released) and a full-length record (Asymmetric Warfare 2012/Cmm-Saol) and have taken no time to breath in between when it comes down to playing live shows: from the smallest, grungiest of rock clubs to major festivals across Europe and abroad they have hit the stage on 3 different continents so far.
Integrity towards the music and honesty in their message, coupled with an old-fashioned hard work approach, SEITA is proving, gig after gig, that they are a rising force to be reckoned with.
